跟各位分享個實際案例
幾年前一位優秀的學生Nico，考過雅思幾次但口說就是拿不到理想的成績，但體驗課跟他聊了一下，發現其實他的程度不錯，怎麼會考不出成績呢？後來在做實際題目測試時發現，Nico回答都只有一兩句，因此考官根本沒有足夠的內容來評判他的程度，就這樣暗吞了5.5, 6.0好多次。
Nico 也不是唯一的案例，來找我的學生有好多在回答時都卡住，最後短短兩句草草結束一題，原因並不是『英文不好』，而是『我真的不知道可以講什麼』，沒有idea這點也在寫作中完整體現。這樣的狀況在口說第二部分和第三部分更讓考生吃力，而我們今天就從較好掌握的第一部分開始培養“延伸答案的能力”。
首先你先試著回答下面這個問題：
Do you like travelling?
考生Ａ:
Yes, I like travelling.
照理來說這樣的確回答完了，但這對你的單字文法流暢度都沒有加分，理想的回答是6句以上。
考生B:
Yes, I am really fond of travelling because it gives me an opportunity to meet new people and experience different cultures. I particularly like to try different cuisines and local street food. I remember when I was in Thailand a month ago, I tried so many mouthwatering local food, such as Tom Yum soup and mango sticky rice. It was really a holiday of lifetime. I wish I could travel at least twice a year.
重點來，我們到底要怎樣才能在短時間內講出這樣的內容呢？ 我很喜歡架構式的學習法，在回答第一部分時可以用這樣的方式去延伸： direct answer > reason > details > experience > example > feeling > expectation
中間可省略幾項或位置調動，除了第一項不可省略或調動。
我們來分析剛剛學生B的答案：
